This picture was taken in 1988, just after we bought this pasture land. You can see there are very few trees, yet at the time we felt this was a lovely forested area having come from the United States.
This picture is taken in the exact same spot in October 2006 after only eight years of forest regeneration. The fence post you see in these two images is the exact same fence post.
This is our house in 1984 just after completion of construction. Notice the open view to the lake beyond the house. The large tree behind the house is still living, yet now surrounded by so many other trees it has almost disapeared!
This photo is taken in the same spot as above in October 2006. Notice the house is almost invisible and the forest has taken over!
This is a view northwest from the west side of our house. The fields behind us were pastures for our cattle.
